The Northeast Nodaway R-V Board of Education met on July 21 to take care of the following school district business:
DeAnn Redden was appointed as the secretary to the board. She, along with the superintendent, bookkeeper and president were granted annual access to the school district bank accounts.
The hearing to set the tax rate for the district will be at 6:45 pm, Thursday, August 18. The regular board meeting will follow at 7 pm.
The board reviewed and approved policy 3320, which deals with tax rate authority and the district’s responsibility to set taxes to cover bonded debt the district has incurred.
Jeff Mehlenbacher, superintendent, invited board members to attend any event during orientation August 15-18. At the cookout and potluck lunch at 11:30 am, Tuesday, August 16, Mehlenbacher is going to introduce attending board members to the staff.
The annual audit was scheduled for July 27-28.
The activities complimentary ticket list was reviewed and approved for 2016-17.
The district is looking for a part-time tech person to take care of technological needs. Mehlenbacher will have a recommendation by the August meeting.
