Pomp, circumstance and the glow of a new beginning on April 19 filled Bearcat Arena as Northwest Missouri State University celebrated the inauguration of its 11th president, Dr. Lance Tatum, with a ceremony that featured well wishes for the new leader’s success while setting a course for the institution’s future.
Presiding Commissioner Bill Walker called the meeting of the Nodaway County Commission to order at the commissioner’s office. In attendance: Walker, Chris Burns and Scott Walk, associate commissioners and Melinda Patton, county clerk. Walk made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. The motion passed. The Pickering Lions will host a breakfast from 8 am to noon, Saturday, April 27 at the community building in Pickering. The freewill donation meal will feature pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, coffee, tea, milk or juice. Proceeds will support North Nodaway R-VI Scholarship funds.
The Skidmore Food Pantry will be open from 10 to 11:30 pm, Saturday, April 27 at Newton Hall in Skidmore. For residents of the Nodaway-Holt School District, line up at the top of the hill going east on Highway 113.
